Time for sharp competitive intelligence

Burst.com Inc. said Apple Inc. (AAPL) agreed to pay a one-time $10 million fee to license its intellectual property and to settle a patent lawsuit filed by Burst.com.

In exchange for the fee, Burst.com agreed not to sue Apple, a Cupertino, Calif., digital entertainment giant, for use of patent applications related to new DVR technology. Burst.com said it also granted Apple a

nonexclusive license to its patent portfolio.
